Christmas Cheer

I have uploaded my Christmas Kit to my online store at http://www.ndisb.com  Click on me, Andy Designz.  Turned out yummy with 16 papers, 10 elements and a full alpha and numbers in individual pngs.

I just love the sugar plum colors in this kit.  It was fun to do and I think you will like it too.

Going to meet Kris and Jake at the China Star Buffet soon for dinner and then to their house to decorate their tree and do our annual ornament exchange.  This will be a lot of fun.  On our way home Kurt and Iwill drive around and look at the Christmas lights up in the city.  Little America Hotel always has a great display and the city decorates Wheeler Park which has many, big trees.  They are both wonderful displays to see.

I am finishing up my decorating inside, including the tree.  Kurt will get to the outside lights this weekend.

I have been doing a lot of substituting at Sinagua Middle School in my friend Carol’s classroom for one of her aides who had surgery.  I love Carol’s kid.  This class was the feeder class to my class at Coconino High School.  These are wonderful young people who have cognitive delay.  We used to call it mildly mentally retarded (MIMR).  The all try so hard to do well and are a joy to work with.

Make a good day!  ~Ann

New Baby Brother

My two youngest grandsons have a new baby brother.  He was born on Oct. 18 and weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces  and was 21 inches long.  His name is Carter James.  His mother is my former daughter-in-law.  The boys are just so excited to have him finally here, especially Chase.  Chase is 4 3/4 years old and babies hold a real mystery for him.  His  mom showed the boys some films abut how new born babies look and one of his first comments to me was, “Grandma, Carter was not dirty.  He was all clean the film said that he would be dirty but he came out clean.  Of course, Carter was 20 hours old by the time Chase saw him so he was indeed clean.  Kurt and I went to the hospital to see him too.  We have volunteered to be his Flagstaff Grandparents as his live far away and  we will for sure be including him when we do things with the boys.  We went over to the house on the day he came home as we picked up Chase from preschool.  It was so much fun to see him interact with Carter.  Brother Conner was pretty aloof about the whole thing.  He is 7 and feels so grown up now.  Here is a scrapbook page that I made of Chase and Carter.

Jessica Sprague CT Call

My favorite scrapbook teacher Jessica Sprague is having another call for her Creative Team.  Creative team members  use the designers’ products and showcase them in layouts  to give customers ideas of how these supplies can be used.  I entered the call last spring and didn’t get picked.  <sob> <sob> so am trying again.  You know that old saw,  ” if at first you don’t succeed…….”  Here are the pages that I entered into the call:

Wish me well this go around as this is something I really want to do and I think I would be good at it too.

Make a nice day!  ~Ann

Scrapbook Classes

Somehow I wound up with four classes this week.  this will carry over into next week too.  I have Jessica Sprague’s, Now We’re Rocking vol. 2.  Tiffany Tillman’s, Photoshop Brushshop2, Crystal Wilkerson’s  Blog Basics for Blogger and Carina Gardner’s, ABC Album Inspiration.  They are all good and I wanted to take them all so am just trying to juggle my time.  I still need to finish my Burning Foliage Kit too.  Whew!  I have done some substitute teaching lately too.  WOW retirement can sure be busy.  We are going to the Pickin’ In the Pines festival this weekend(Fri.-Sun.) out at the beautiful Pine Mountain Pavillion.  Many good groups are playing.  Here are the first three pages from my ABC Inspiration album.

Well, back to my class marathon.  Make a nice day.  ~Ann

And the Winner is……

I won 4 ribbons at the county fair.  My Chicago black and white photos took 1st, 2nd and honorable mention.  My color photo of the Grand Canyon took 3rd and the portrait of my grandson didn’t place.  (I found out I had it in the wrong category.  I had entered it in scenes with people and it should have been in portraits.  LOL  who knew?)

This was first

This won second place

And honorable mention

It was fun entering and going to the fair and seeing the fruits of my labor.  My grandson Jake’s  photo of the double rainbow out at Fernow cabin took an honorable mention.

We all went to breakfast on Saturday to celebrate  grandson Conner’s 7th birthday and out to the fair and the carnival.  The kids just love the rides.   Saturday night Kurt and I went to Williams to  a birthday social  for our friend Karen.  It was at the McElwain’s home and we spent the evening grilling and socializing on the patio.  The weather was perfect.

Make a nice day!

Fair Photos

Yesterday I took out my photographs for the fair.  It was receiving day.  This day can be quite a zoo, check in, get your id tags, find the area for each photo, attach the tag and then hang it up….piece of cake..right?  Well, trying do that with 50 or so other people in a small venue all trying to do the same thing…and did I mention I had my two youngest grandsons with me…ages 6 and 4.  Thank goodness grandpa went along.  Here are the 5 photos I entered.  The three black and whites are of Chicago buildings, one color is of the Grand Canyon north rim and the other color is of my 6 year old grandson at the cabin.

I will let you know how mine did after the judging next weekend.  Make a nice day!
